Pros

A sharing economy of best practices and ideas. Supportive culture with lots of opportunity to take on new and different challenges to grow yourself as a professional. In my many years at Gensler I've seen great stories of people who started out in support roles, even admin, who go on to do fantastic things.

Cons

Opportunities are sometimes endless but they may not fall in your lap. Put yourself out there and be open to stretching.

Pros

Perhaps one of the best reasons to work at Gensler is the people. For being the biggest firm in the world, Gensler does an amazing job of making wherever you work feel like a unique studio. In Morristown, the feel is of a small-medium sized office, where you know mostly everyone and have the chance to work in a few different projects. Yet, the resources Gensler has to offer are immense and unlike any other. You know you are a part of something big, even as an intern, and you feel motivated to always give your best. The mentality of Gensler is all about the team - there is no one "star", there is a constellation of stars. And Gensler can help you to be your brightest - the culture is to encourage one another, support each other, and to always be willing to offer a helping hand. I learned more in 3 months there than I could have ever imagined. I can only imagine what a career there would be like.

Cons

Having had this as my first architectural internship, I can't say. I think it was the best possible experience I could have gotten.
