      Pros

      Genworth strives to empower their employees to grow. While my 15 year career may be coming to an end, I will truly miss the family that I have here.

      Cons

      Due to industry shifts, my department has been eliminated and I must seek employment elsewhere. I will miss this wonderful place.

      Not a bad company, but lots of room for improvement

      Pros

      Good benefits, possibility of advancement and a variety of jobs. Once you are an exempt employee, you have very flexible hours. GNW is VERY in tune with community. Love how much they encourage employees to volunteer and help out. Employees can use up to 40 hours of work time to help out any cause, including your kids' schools!

      Cons

      Many managers from the Old First Colony and they are very sweet, but completely ineffective. In general, I can't think of one holdover from First Colony who is good in his/her position. They do have a wealth of knowledge, and that is GREAT, but many are in positions of management and they are not good at it. At GNW, it's who you know who propels you ahead, sadly.
