Pros

great people and they put on a lot of events around town for the interns. You have a lot of opportunities to interact with management.

Cons

The managers can get more involved as far as teaching the interns go. You are on your own a lot as an intern. Also, the work can be boring at times.

Pros

Very team-oriented culture. Strong leadership team whose impact is felt all throughout organization. Lots of social events for interns, as well as final presentations. Good way to get exposure to corporate life.

Cons

Company itself may not be very strong... Stock price is very volatile. Layoffs during internship. Lack of cross-department camaraderie. Workforce doesn't always respond as well to health initiatives as Genworth seems to think.

Pros

My Directors and Senior Leader care about their employees and strive to build a positive environment. Employees are encouraged to share their ideas and are appropriately recognized for improvement ideas and performance. My favorite part of my job is definitely the quality people I work with.

Cons

The compensation is not great compared to other corporate companies. Layoffs also tend to happen every two to three years causing employee moral to decrease and become untrusting. Good talent leaves because of the uncertainty and pay.
