Wow, just Wow

Pros

Pay was not bad. Location and the view were passable. Pretty adequate workstations. We did not have to use a pirated software license. They had nice coffee.

Cons

Everything else. Disorganized mgmt. Ancient and convoluted and very buggy code. No documentation. A decade of technical debt. The world's most bizarre app GUI, by far. They expect you to get up to speed on a 5-million-line convoluted ancient code base in two weeks.

Wannabe walmart for data - revolving door with little to no human values.

Pros

You can negotiate your salary and compensation package.

Cons

Flight by night outfit continually looking for the next wave and to acquire or be acquired. Numerous layoffs per year to pay off dividends to executives and leadership team. Unstable workforce, very high attrition, internal competition to keep your job. All the good employees have moved on, retired or were layed off. A mechanical turk with little to no human values. Bullying, yelling and real club atmosphere, is the norm. No equity pay across gender and nationalities; low diversity.

Pros

I feel that the compensation is decent and that the company offers a Great Work/Life balance (most employees rarely have trouble getting the time-off needed). The Co-paid benefits, Co-Paid RRSP, and Stock options that are offered are much-appreciated added perks that I understand MANY businesses don't even consider offering.

Cons

(Seemingly) Endless budget cuts, including multiple rounds of (poorly handled) lay-offs over 2 years, and very little room for moving up within company.
