Pros
Geonetric is the best place I’ve worked. I love Geonetric’s constant focus on creating a collaborative environment that challenges each employee to find ways to move the company forward. At Geonetric, I am empowered to make decisions. I’m encouraged to be candid and say what I think. I’m advised to work together with my teammates to put ideas into action.
There are so many things I like about Geonetric, but mostly, it’s because:
• We meet with our team every day to discuss what we’re working on that day.
• We meet with our team every week to look back at all we’ve accomplished and talk about what challenges we had. Together we figure out what next steps to take. It’s a discussion that requires trust and we have it.
• We, as a team, give a presentation to our company each month highlighting what the team has accomplished.
• We encourage tests. Have an idea? Try it. Launch a test, see what works and what doesn’t, and iterate on it. I love having the freedom to try something new even if I’m not sure I’ll succeed.
• We have a team whose mission it is to make our work fun. They plan celebrations for our big achievements, they make treats just for fun, and sometimes they have a little surprise waiting for us on our desks.
• We trust each other to accomplish the work we commit to, even if we aren’t in the office. Being able to work at home when my children are sick or work late if I have an appointment -- and not have to take PTO – is a HUGE benefit to me.
• We regularly receive surveys asking for feedback. Last year, we’ve provided feedback on our benefits package and we completed one on our facility. Our HR and exec team listened to us and made changes based on what we said. They even added an extra holiday – our birthday off – as a result.
• We have a fantastic exec team. Our execs ask for feedback in our company meetings. If you don’t want to say something, you’re encouraged to email any of them or stop in their office. Our CEO welcomes your thoughts and mentors you if have a challenge. Any of our execs are willing to help when needed.
For me, Geonetric offers more than a list of great benefits (like sabbaticals, casual attire, fantastic 401K plan, and competitive salaries). It offers a culture that I am challenged in, that I like belonging to. And that’s why I’ve been at Geonetric for 10 years.
Cons
Because we are a flat organization, to be successful, you must be self aware, flexible, accountable, and able to work well in a team environment. The culture isn't for everyone. But it definitely works for me.
