Pros

The university environment is very welcoming and it's a great location. Pay is not great, but if you stay long enough, you can take advantage of their pension. The LEC puts out great content and it's a mission-driven organization.

Cons

Specific to the LEC... -low pay for junior-level staff -confusing and poor leadership from the top -executive staff can be condescending -high turnover so you are always having to train new people

Low Pay, No Benefits

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

Somewhat flexible schedule, but often work overtime without compensation

Cons

Low Pay. No benefits. Mason wants to fill every job with a student in order to keep costs down even though it means high turnover, loss of institutional knowledge, and generally unqualified or under-qualified employees filling the positions.
