Pros

Great education opportunities; if somebody focuses mostly on education them it's easier to study if a job is at the same place where classes

Cons

This job wasn't well paid and did not have any benefits which is typical for graduate research assistant positions there

Pros

In addition to working on a college campus, free classes are perk to many employees. The DC area is very exciting.

Cons

Situated in one of the most expensive areas in the country, salaries do not compare. Academia in general suffers from a mix of poor managers. Individual departments vary greatly.

Pros

The new renovations have finished in the Art Department and the building is quite nice. Even though I do not have a Doctorate my hard work is rewarded and I remain happily employed.

Cons

The decision making process for management is sometimes clandestine. Management decisions that would seem to require faculty support are sometimes made without any discussion.
