Pros

Georgetown has great retirement benefits, they will match up to 7% by just allocating 3% of your salary to the plan. You are also eligible for free tuition after 1 year of work as long as you get into a program

Cons

Georgetown has a 2 class system of employees; those that have to follow rules and protocol (staff) and faculty who are allowed to be rude, break rules, and in some instances Georgetown will even cover when the law is broken by faculty members.

Pros

Great benefits. Decent work/life balance.

Cons

Employees at Georgetown are underpaid, overworked, and the bureaucracy here is one of the worst I have ever experience in higher education. Although the name carries some weight, I did not find my experience here worth much for my career.

Pros

I would say the tuition benefit, but that only traps you. You will be so stressed by working as a staff member that you cannot learn. Not to mention problems with the programs that have part-time options.

Cons

Everything. Turnover is a huge problem in that it takes 4-6 months to replace a vacant role and during that time, they have you do two jobs (if not more). Then you get burnt out and leave and they put your job onto another person who is already doing 2-3 jobs. Morale is so bad that no one will help each other. It is nearly impossible to complete a simple task in fewer than 10 business days due to being sent in circles by every department.
