      Pros

      No pros. The hidden aggression in assessment and hatred to whosoever is different makes it one of the worst work environments.

      Cons

      Low Pay. They are not embracing different backgrounds. Inherent latent racism.

      Great culture but doesn't extend to staff employees

      Pros

      There is a great culture at GU about learning for the greater good, in order to help others. This culture inspired me to complete my bachelor's degree. The tuition benefit is the best thing about working here.

      Cons

      Of the 3 main groups of people on campus (faculty, students, staff), staff is the least valued. Salaries are low and not competitive. HR doesn't care if jobs are improperly classified in order to keep pay low, and if you bring it up to your manager you'll probably be shot down. Turnover is extremely high, but it's not viewed as problem so as a department admin, you're constantly dealing with new people (who are probably paid more than you) and telling them how to do their job. It's an extremely dysfunctional place to work.

      Pay is way behind the times. It's even lower than other less famous universities. Benefits don't counterbalance low pay & unending work.
