      Good Place for a Summer Internship

      Pros

      Great people to work with. Very smart and hard working staff that know how to have fun both inside and outside of work. Great leadership.

      Cons

      As with any large organization there can be a fair amount of red tape to plan and carry out events. As this was a large part of my internship, it was something I frequently had to deal with.

      Pros

      The Georgetown University campus is beautiful. The benefits are good, especially the 401K contribution plan and the education assistance. Employees get the feeling of being part of the University and Hospital-wide mission of cura personalis (care of the entire person) so that the work being done has meaning.

      Cons

      The pay is mediocre. Depending on which department you get placed in, promotions and increased pay become difficult as managers have to fight bureaucracy to give you the better title and pay. The wait and time is often not worth sticking around if you want career growth.
