There was always inflexible work schedule usually coming with unexpected overloaded work. Taking leaves was not allowed without supervisor's permission.

The bureaucracy of the beast.. Whether it be supervisors, HR, or other administrative officers, there always seems to be two answers to every question. Also, for entry level employees there is little space to move up, so you most likely have to leave the university and get experience elsewhere before you can get a high level position.
