Pros

They provide a flexible schedule. The pay is relatively decent. Lifeguarding shifts are in 1 hour rotations, so you don't get overly tired.

Cons

You have to fold towels. Busy gym so there is not much time to do homework. Lifeguarding in general is boring.

Pros

Generally good benefits, decent compensation for many positions. Always a lot going on. Being on campus has a lot of perks - fun events, free food, an energetic environment. Shuttles to metro stations not bad (though they run infrequently).

Cons

Your experience depends almost entirely on your supervisor, and many of them - especially middle management - are horrendous. Financial constraints on the University make pay raises few and far between and there are no clear pathways for career advancement for most positions.
