Pros

G-P has a good benefits package. It is not as good now as a private company however. The onboarding process is very complete.

Cons

G-P doesn't always promote fairly. The most competent person is certainly not always promoted.

Pros

You are promoted and paid based upon value creation, which is a great structure if you are a high performer. You must put some time into capturing and communicating that value creation PROACTIVELY if you really want to do well. Being private, and focusing on long term value creation rather than short term foolish decisions is a big plus.

Cons

The unwritten expectation is long hours, which tends to make work-life balance a struggle. The culture of the company is not for everyone, but if oyu can find a way to manage your workload and demonstrate value creation, you can have a good career.
