Pros

Many opportunities to learn. Not too stressful. A lot of different areas to work, depending on your interests.

Cons

Entry level pay is lower than competitors, lower bonus. Only two weeks vacation to start. Not enough training, it's on your own. Promises of training are not followed through on.

Leaves much to be desired

Pros

Diversified portfolio yields many potential career opportunities.

Cons

Lack of annual cost of living increases, marginal incentive compensation, political entrenchment with the Koch brothers (e.g., sending pamphlets in the mail suggesting who we should vote for in local and national elections), workforce slow to change. Investment in the employee is minimal because the company is super cheap.

Pros

- I like the MBM theory and it helps drive economic decision making throughout the business - I found senior management to be approachable - Talented people

Cons

Gypsum is the red-haired step child of the GP companies. Its plant assets are not competitive and they have trouble competing in the market place with National and US Gypsum. I was recruited for a senior manager role where I interacted routinely with top management in Gypsum. I never had a job review by my boss in the first 18 months but one day I ended up in an office with my boss and the HR Director where they let me go. Since my departure, everyone of the management roles have turned over except their all mighty President Brent Paugh. People were fired, left or demoted at an alarming rate. While I enjoyed my time at GP-Gypsum working with some talented people on complex busines problems, I would advise that others be cautious about the culture which is extremely cut throat.
