Pros

G-P is a large corporation with extensive resources to assist individual sites to achieve both their productivity and financial objectives.

Cons

Too much micro-managing from the corporate headquarters. A strict and unforgiving set of guiding principles. Individual creativity is not valued as much as one would like.

Pros

Georgia-Pacific's biggest asset is it's people. The people are great! Georgia-Pacific is an large company--it's very different from working at a small to medium company. There's more career security at Georgia-Pacific since the company is doing well financially. There is room to grow your career at Georgia-Pacific. It's not automatic and you really have to work for it. It does take a great time of time to get raises and promotions.

Cons

It's a big company--it can be difficult to navigate your way around the politics and the complexity. It takes some time to figure out how the company is organized. We you first get there--you have to be a self-starter to get everything you need to get all the things you need to do your job. Since, G-P is a large company, it's really not very flexible or bleeding-edge innovative. Don't expect to have the latest, greatest computers or computer software.
