Obviously it's a top tier school with a great and well-deserved reputation for being on the cutting edge. The academics are hard by design, and that's why the people take a Georgia Tech degree seriously.

Cons

The paperwork side of things is unbelievably painful here. I'll have degrees from a couple other universities and none of them made things this difficult. I've had paperwork lost and been told that I had filled out the wrong form when someone in the office had given it to me the day before. I've heard of people accidentally getting sent degrees, despite not having actually graduated. And it's not a few isolated incidents. It's a clear pattern and everyone complains about it. Some departments are probably better than others, but it seems to be an institute-wide problem.

Smart People Great Campus Amazing city The classes were difficult, but I thought it was totally worth it to take time away from research to learn more about the areas that I'm interested in.

Cons

The pay is very low, especially if you're on third-time. Work consumes your life.
