Pros

when you succeed in areas such as publishing articles you are recognized. working with students gives lot of satisfaction with such a highly intellectual atmosphere

Cons

lots of red tape and the atmosphere is very competitive- almost cut throat. sometimes people are not willing to help you out in fear of losing on their part

Pros

You can take Georgia Tech classes for free and establish a relationship with professors if you plan on going to grad school.

Cons

The pay is terrible. You can be a lab tech making $11 per hour. Also you are usually working for un tenured professors who typically treat their students poorly.
