Pros

Benefits and environment are fantastic. Great healthcare benefits and other perks. Holiday schedule is also pretty nice. Paid week off at Christmas.

Cons

Once you're in, you're pretty much locked into your salary. There are no raises, no additional compensation for extra work. They only seem to value those (monetarily) who come in from outside the Institute. I'd stay here for my career if only they could pay me market value.

Pros

Tech has an excellent reputation and is highly ranked among academic institutions. Colleagues and students are intelligent and easy to work with. The President is an exceptional leader who is very approachable. The campus is beautiful, has plenty of amenities, is constantly being improved and is an energetic environment to be in. Work/Life balance is excellent.

Cons

Crime is an issue for urban campuses. The faculty and student body could be more ethnically diverse. Compensation provided by state institutions is not aligned with performance.
