Pros

Georgia Tech provides and excellent benefits package, including an attractive (and solvent) pension program through the Teacher's Retirement System of GA. The work environment is very flexible and a strong sense of community is prevalent.

Cons

In the current environment, the uncertainty surrounding state funding levels and the lack of funds to give raises for a number of years has created some concerns among employee groups. Additionally, the lack of income growth has contributed to the loss of intellectual capital to outside companies.

Pros

If you want an easy job, have kids and want a pretty easy gig then this is your place. If you're far along in your career then I wouldn't recommend coming here unless it's a pit stop to have kids and then move on. There are very smart people at the top but nobody really shares that knowlege. The peer staffers are siloed and don't really communicate across other depts. I'd say if you're just starting out it's probably a good first stop but I would say that it would be a place where a career goes to die. No mas.

Cons

Pay stinks. Mostly staffers are lcd. Some very smart people coupled with the lcd.
