In customer service you are expected to cross sell, I was aware of this going in. But what you arent told is that the goals are constantly changing. So if you are meeting your goals one day and have a bad day all of a sudden everything is gone. People who waste time and take less calls have lower goals . So hard work is not rewarded. For example of you are fast and efficient on the phones you are expected to sell WAY more than the person who may be a chatty cathy and wasting time. Your bonus is LARGELY based on what the customer says and there is no distinction between if the customer is upset with you or the company in general. If you point this out to your supervisor they dont care because they are screwing employees out of 1000s of dollars per month. The systems are horrible and the processes are ancient.

Low compensation based on county geography model--most workers live in a five mail radius of the office. Few opportunities for individual growth or training. Management have all worked their way up over decades of employment. If you haven't grown up with the company or in the surrounding city, it's tough to fit in.
