Can't keep employees

Pros

health insurance, life insurance for employee/spouse, paid membership to health club

Cons

Very strict on attendance, management looks for excuses to fire people they don't like, advancement not based on experience but on how well you get along with management. the corporate culture is very threatening. no overall overt threats are made but are implied on a daily basis. If you see someone who is being unethical and alert management, instead of investigating the situation, everything the person who gave the alert is gone over with a fine toothed comb first. they have a "people helping people" form that is to be filled out monthly (on your own time) to basically tattle on others in the building over trivial things but gross violations of osha within the sales buildings are constantly ignored. If you have an issue with a rule (which the "rules" change on an almost daily basis and change according to who they are applied to) and speak to your manager for clarification, you are told you are "not a team player" and if you don't like what is going on "there is the door" it's no wonder they can't keep staff long enough to have them fully trained, policy holders regularly face 20+ minute hold times with 50+ minutes occurring with alarming regularity.

Pros

Employees are great to work with; opportunities are there to work from home; decent pay and benefits; great educational reimbursement for life insurance related coursework

Cons

No advancement unless you are on the inside; stagnant/stale management; leadership afraid of truly qualified people and ideas; it often feels like management just placates; no clear path to advance; the educational courses are not useful; culture of "false positivity" that employees are forced to adopt or fear retaliation; too much pressure on sales outside of the sales team
