Pros

Work from home. It's a job

Cons

They call it sales but it's really customer service with upselling. 2 weeks training. Low pay. Weak bonus structure thats based on premium but they have you peddling $5-$10 policies all day. Bad benefits. If you need a job and you're ok with the base pay it may be alright but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for a sales position.

Pros

Onboarding with GL was amazing, the classroom style teaching and 2 months of training (at the time in 2014) was perfect. I still know more about life insurance to this day than I ever thought I would. They do also provide some sales training, which comes in handy! Also, there is a company store just down the street that has some pretty awesome stuff at extremely reasonable prices.

Cons

At the time, sales and service were two separate sides of the business- I was in service, so I handled payment calls and people who were looking for information about existing policies mostly. We were still expected to sell new policies, and it was hard to meet my sales goals. That was likely my own personal hang-ups however, not gonna lie. I do know that they merged the two departments in the past few years, and all reps get all types of calls now. Also, the pay is terrible for how qualified the workers are.
