Hiring and promotion is based on time served within the corporation rather than area of expertise. As a result confusion reins because you have people who are good people placed in the wrong position and leading with wrong mentality. North American IT is being run mostly by non - IT folk who have no clue how to run an IT enterprise and are therefore focused on numbers than developing people and technology. A bully mentality is the order of the day. Work to life balance though touted everywhere within the company is a complete galaxy.
