Pros
Getty has a great product in a great industry. There's a good respect for work-life balance and a progressive, laid back culture. There are some good, talented people working there. Working in Fremont is a nice bonus.
Cons
People are promoted to management who have no particular skill in managing people and the company offers no training for it's management. The company seems to have a subscription to the management 'trend of the month club'. More time is spent explaining Agile processes than time is saved using it. There is an increasing level of bureaucracy that makes getting things done difficult. In many ways the company is 'top heavy' - too many managers who spend most of their time in meetings and not enough people actually doing things. Management is very secretive about impending changes that will affect employees to the point of being insulting. When Jonathan Klein spoke at all company meetings you could pretty much predict the future by applying the opposite of whatever assurances he made.
