Pros

The company at a global level is pretty cool. As an R&D engineer there are very interesting projects to work on. The working environment is great and people are nice to each other. If you put your nose out of barcelona and have the poasibility to travel in other g&d offices kr participate to some of their initiatives you can understand that globally the company is going in the right direction.

Cons

First and most primary: the location is the worst ever for an R&D department. You meed your own private transport to go ther as it is literally in the middle of nothing in a very bad and ugly are, literally. There are no other it conpanies around, only trucks and logistic centers. No bar restaurants or shops or whatsoever at a walking distance. Second: very hard to retain and attract talent, mostly because of the company location. Third: spanish management always thinking on going cheap. They hire too many junior or stageur people, amd they let them doing normal work. This makes life very hard to more senior people om charge of teams or projects that they have to deliver counting on stageur part time workers. Fourth: they mark you the time ylu are in the office. This is good amd bad. Good because you know of you are worki g too much. Bad because young people tend to dont commit because of hours they are doing are the right amount. Fifth: no free coffee Sixth: no working from home allowed Seventh: inexistent career plan or salary scheme. Salaries are below the average for an international company

Pros

- The projects are very interesting and some of the costumers are the bigest technological companies of the world. It's cool to work with talented people inside and outside of G+D. - The R&D team in Barcelona is great, at personal and professional level. They love what they do and have an admirable commitment with the projects that they develop. - Flexible entry/exit time and in summer you only work 7 hours (instead 8). - Management is (usually) not inside the projects, but outside. Most of the time you can work on the projects without management interferences.

Cons

- It is easy to find companies with better salary. - The work environment is noisy. A lot of people talking each other or on the phone. Sometimes it is hard to get focus on the problem that you have in the screen. - There is no office/kitchen space (but there is a cantine with daily meals) - No free coffee. Seriously? This is gas for the engineering people. - Travel "diets" or compensation are too fair. - The company is on the outskirts of Barcelona. Private transport (car or motorbike) is almost necessary. Consequently is in the middle of nothing. Literally (search it in google maps) - There are no internal career opportunities in R&D.
