Pros

The mission of the organization is great. I think the reasons that most people working there are good and genuine--caring about girls and their future. Management gives a help, when asked. Communication tries to stay open, but is difficult due to the large size of the organization (since it realigned).

Cons

There is very high turnover, likely due to the lack of training employees and high stress. Changes are being made constantly, employees get mixed messages and are expected to go with the flow. Prepare to work long hours, nights, and sometimes weekends, and not get paid enough for it. Management often treats girls as "numbers" and not as real people.

Pros

The mission: to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place. Along with the mission the organization provides a comprehensive benefits package.

Cons

The reward for good work is more work! There is an underlying feeling of guilt placed on those who choose to not work on holidays and weekends. Management rewards favorites. Favorites seem to be based on personal relationships and not professional performance. Human Resources is not supportive of workers. Workers who place complaints or seek support to resolve issues with managment are brushed off and sometimes retaliated against. Your supervisor has complete power to make your work life heaven or hell. Unfortunately, many have resigned after being subject to the latter.

Pros

Helping girls make the world a better place. Non-profits are very rewarding jobs and the mission of this organization is something I believe in and support. The staff and volunteers were very dedicated people. Working for a diverse population was rewarding.

Cons

Lack of funding during difficult times. The organization just went through a realignment and it was a very difficult situation. The culture between the different locations were not similar and this proved to be an obstacle for growth. The loss of a team feeling and a lack of information and communication made it an uncomfortable enviroment.
