Pros

Work life balance, treating each other like humans/respect, 100% remote, 50% 401k match, engineering culture, parental leave, and other fringe benefits: Microsoft discounts, annual L&D budget, like 90% HSA contribution, awesome laptops, etc.

Cons

Microsoft's claws are finally in and getting deeper. It started with minor things like switching from Zoom to Teams. But now it's extending to other aspects, including 2 (and soon to be 3) time trackers. Thomas is overly taken by AI/Copilot at the expense of other features/products. And it feels like it's getting harder to get promoted.

It is truly a great company and culture. People are amazing here and willing to help each other.

Cons

It is sad to see that many people are leaving after four years.

Pros

Everyone I've met so far at GitHub is very engaging. Even with the remote work culture, the communication is done very well. Work life balance is great as everyone is respective of each others time zones and life events.

Cons

Haven't been able to meet anyone in person at the company due to covid. Other than that it's been overall positive.
