Pros

I am so happy to be a part of the GitHub team. The interview process was thorough and I met quite a few of my team and my key clients in the process. I appreciated the genuine transparency and connections that I made with everyone through the process. We are building a solid product, recruiting top notch talent, and taking the time to do things right.

Cons

Rapid growth mode - which is a pro as well.

Pros

The benefits are excellent which is the reason most stay even though the culture is completely toxic.

Cons

Sadly the culture has become toxic over the past couple years and is only worsening. Upper management has a talk track but are pushing down a very toxic culture that people managers are implementing . It's either get in line or get out. The work environment used to support creativity and strategic thinking, but that's been squashed completely.
