Pros

Working on something that millions of people use and still mostly like.

Cons

More time and effort goes to padding resumes with questionable rewrites, “leadership”, and AI functionality then is spent thinking about the health of GitHub and its users as a platform.

Pros

The benefits and pay are competitive and you'll work with other talented engineers.

Cons

Several layers of middle management have been added and they are running the ship aground. Expect to work long hours and outside of business hours with no support or compensation. GitHub used to regularly promote engineers for exceptional work, but that has changed. Promotions and special bonuses have been non existent over the past 2 years.
