Best Place to Work, Great Future

Pros

Glassdoor is a really exciting place to work. Even on those days when I'm busy and pretty exhausted, I leave with the feeling that I love my job! Senior management works hard to create an environment that welcomes each individual's input. The work/life balance can't be beat. The challenges are interesting and fun to tackle. I'm constantly energized with the work that we do and the direction the company is headed.

Cons

With several team members scattered throughout the Bay Area, California and the US, it's tough at times to keep connected. Glassdoor's also growing so fast so the office space in Sausalito is pretty cosey which means there are often many distractions. Also if you're not self-motivated or you're fearful of letting your opinions be heard, this might not be the place for you.

Pros

Glassdoor provides an environment to excel in and grow your career. People working here are smart, capable and driven to succeed. The office environment provides the perfect balance of openness, transparency into what others are doing, yet enough space that is truly your own. Our location makes it easy for SF city peeps to make it to work without losing hours off their lives sitting in traffic, and is convenient for North Bay folks to ride bikes in, run or even walk into work. At this time, the company is growing at a furious pace, and it's really great to be part of the building blocks for what will surely be a long and successful company. It makes you feel good about our core offerings; that we are helping people find jobs, especially these days!

Cons

If you are the type of person that needs a manager to constantly be telling you what to do.....move along. At Glassdoor, you're ramped up quickly and let loose. It's up to you to drive your project list, and up to you to manage your priorities. Management is there to assist and provide guidance, but there seems to be an expectation that you can work autonomously.

Pros

Extremely flexible hours, 4 hours a day are required, however you choose when and how Above average compensation Terrific work life balance, this is a perfect job for any parent Work from home

Cons

Disconnect from "corporate", home office out of California....I am located in Ohio. Sometimes difficult to connect with manager as my hours may not be then same as their hours. Technical issues often take more time than usual to address, again because of the flexibility in schedules. No bagel Wednesday when you work from home :-(
