Pros

Learning in a very fast-paced environment Working directly under C-Suite executives Exposed to high level work as a junior

Cons

I had a very difficult experience in my role as a Junior Financial Analyst, and most of the issues stemmed from the management style within the department. The environment was extremely challenging, communication was often condescending, training was minimal, and important information was frequently withheld, making it hard to perform the job effectively. When I joined (2023–2025), the FP&A team had five people. Within a year, two team members left due to the high stress and heavy overtime. With the team reduced to three, I found myself handling responsibilities far above a junior level. Despite performing senior‑level work, I was underpaid and not supported in my development. Any progress I made came from teaching myself and relying on peers rather than management guidance. After two years, I requested a promotion to reflect the work I was already doing. I was told I “was not ready,” without any clear explanation or feedback. It felt as though there was no genuine interest in my growth. Management even told HR that I needed basic Excel training, something that did not align with my actual performance or the work I had been successfully doing for two years. It came across as an excuse to avoid promoting me. The work environment became so stressful that I would physically shake before meetings. Asking questions felt unsafe, and the culture did not support learning or early‑career development. I reached out to HR for help, but received no meaningful support. I did not hear back from them until after I submitted my resignation months later. This is not an ideal environment for someone early in their career. Young professionals deserve support, training, and a workplace that encourages growth. Unfortunately, this department did not provide that. I later learned that the person in the role before me had a nearly identical experience, lack of training, being talked down to, and feeling physically ill from the stress and also left for a healthier work environment. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend working in this FP&A department.
