Pros

If you are able to tolerate the environment, then good for experience; but still wouldn't recommend , as this company is not worth the stress.

Cons

To describe this company in a nutshell. If your face don't fit or you are not a yes person then you will not be getting far in this place. I would not recommend this company to even my worst enemy, that's how bad it is. I could describe Progressive as a cotton field, and some of the colleagues are slaves and the rest especially the managers are the slave masters. Instead of managers promoting within the company, they rather employ somebody that has no managerial experience to become a manager, and demoralise the rest of staff by not even giving them the opportunity to progress or develop to the next stage of their career. They rather keep incompetent staff as managers, whilst dishearten capable members of staff who are able to do managerial roles. I would really like to know how this company still exists, because their processes and micro management procedures is absolutely ridiculous. They do not know how to retain staff, however once you start to question certain aspects they think that you are the trouble maker, and that you shouldn't have a voice. They have unprofessional and childish managers who cannot separate their personal feelings from work related issues, and believe its amusing to humiliate staff in front of other members of staff. I would advise the top management to give their managers training, however this company doesn't believe on sending their managers or even staff to go on training courses. They feel that if you want to go on a training course, then you have to invest in yourself and pay for your own course. Even retail stores, invest in their staff to be trained, as they want their staff to give the best service. The main importance for Progressive is about cost cutting and penny pinching. Working in that company you would think that the UK is still in the recession!!!! Especially since the salaries do not reflect the day to day lives for a person living in London for 2015. This company doesn't care for their staffs welfare, as they like freezing their staff to death in the London office. Even when different members of staff asks for the temperature to be turned down. They ignore their staffs request. Their office is always dusty, instead of replacing the tired carpets which they have had for years, they rather stick new cut out carpet on top of the old carpet. The duration of time that I was working at the Blackfriars branch, I only saw the windows cleaned once. This just shows how much they care about their image and staff. I think everything about this company is absolutely appalling, and I have never worked for a company like Progressive before in my life. If I could describe Progressive in a few words, I would say its a cross between a circus, and a slave cotton field!!!
