Pros

With so many issues at every level of the company there is no end for opportunities for improvement.

Cons

Worldwide company without clear direction and virtually no assimilation of cultures from AMD, Chartered and IBM. The company has been in a constant state of management flux since it's inception.

Pros

Malta, New York site is very impressive - $15B site. Very well funded A lot of very bright and friendly engineers and managers

Cons

Business processes vary by department - no central quality organization at Malta site. GlobalFoundries is a conglomeration of companies that each have their own distinct cultures. Bureaucratic mentality prevails in much of the organization - it will be a long time before this organization can truly optimize - due to political conflict over customer interest. CYA mentality is present if not pervasive - for good reason. From a global market perspective, GF is the 3rd horse in a 3 horse race

Pros

Pay and benefits are competitive. Nice campus.

Cons

Brought in some of the most talented people world only to see them leave out of frustration. To replace these people brought in inexperienced people. Critical projects are given to NCGs who are not experienced enough to cover all the bases. All procedures end with the word call engineer. However it is a data driven company, all data must match the charts. Each area has 20-25 kpis, most successful companies have 5-6. The one key perform indicator is missed "Profit". Country Club atmosphere in office area. No accountability
