Pros

Some of the smartest people i have ever worked with. good exposure to new technologies and advance equipment. exciting to work in the most advanced fab in the world.

Cons

The only way to urge employees not to give up is to deliver results. it is okay to replace the entire fab management team with IBM managers but the fab must perform. the GM said the industry has ups and downs but so far we only see 'downs'. the employee morale is at the lowest point and they need to see results in order not to give up on fab 8. so far, nothing is looking good under the new management.

Pros

Decent pay and good benefits. Same commute every day and you know what to expect each day. Little stress. Regular work hours. Get to experience new leading edge equipment and occasionally get to work on it.

Cons

Frustratingly difficult to actually do work you are trained to do - therefore, skill loss takes place. Management while getting better, often times seems incompetent and fears of affecting production makes most fearful of doing any proactive work. Most work with any risk associated to it goes out to contractors who then assume the responsibilities. Pay is Inconsistent among like workers and less experienced employees are often payed similar to those with 20 years experience.

Pros

Team work within same department is good, payment always on time. And canteen auntie is kind...

Cons

Not true for inter-department team. Always fingerpoint eacher at ops meeting, dogs barking. Someone works hard but did get nothing
