Pros

1. They are probably hiring as there is high- turnover. if you need a job, it's better than being homeless & hungry. 2. You can only "go up" after working in the rock bottom environment at GM anywhere else will be an improvement after working here.

Cons

Left this company 5 years ago, so the bitterness has worn off and only the sad truth remains. The previous negative reviews here are unfortunately all " spot on", including but not limited to: Low pay Lack of career path opportunities unless you are related or a friend. Deceptively poor benefits offerings Work areas & environment are awfully cramped, HVAC system broke down weekly Management is incompetent and unqualified , many due to nepotism and favoritism. Felt there was discrimination due to gender and race are surprisingly dominant occurrences in this company. Product Development was founded on stolen designs from a former employer Management seemed paranoid

Pros

100% paid benefits, including your family coverage. Fascinating, hands-on type of product with plenty of opportunities for travel. Visiting surgeons often give presentations so if you have an interest in medicine you can learn from the best.

Cons

Difficult to know where to begin: complete boys club, no women in management roles. Run by engineers with no business management skills who micromanage projects, unrealistic timelines with no support to achieve goals. Turnover is ridiculously high so there is little to no institutional knowledge and the average age is under 30. They say they provide training but it consists of weeks of off-site instruction on anatomy and sales techniques that are no use performing your actual job. The physical office is a complete dump and they recent bought the building next door that looks no better. Middle-management is completely powerless and upper management is vindictive. They monitor internet usage and severely restrict access to outside sites and cell reception is abysmal. There is zero (I really mean zero) opportunity to achieve any sort of work/life balance because they are too paranoid to allow any sort of telecommuting or flex time and you are only given 10 vacation days for the first 5 years of employment. and 90% of employees never make to 5 years. There is no snow policy, you are expected at the office no matter what the driving conditions and if you stay home you are docked a vacation day. There are over 400 people crammed into a single building served by a lunch room with 2 refrigerators, 4 microwaves and a single sink. The personnel have a bunker-type mentality because of the high-turnover - no point in being too friendly because no one stays. The furniture is used and mismatched and the lighting is truly terrible. I know I sound bitter but please heed my warning, this is a horrible, horrible place to work.

Pros

It was a job when I needed it .

Cons

One of the cheapest, most disinterested, disconnected management I have ever worked for or heard of. Cheap rules at Globus
