Pros

- Smart colleagues, especially just junior employees (analysts/associates) - Good learning environment for entry level positions - Resume booster that will help you get your next job - Solid benefits

Cons

- Very high turnover in Salt Lake Risk (~20% per year) - Uninspiring middle management composed of burnt out VPs who are either stuck at GS since they're on visas or they have few exit opportunities in Salt Lake - Mediocre compensation vs. other finance/fintech/tech firms in SLC, and slow raises after first two years - No transparency, in part due to Salt Lake management not having autonomy from NYC

Pros

Better work/life balance in the SLC office; less stressful enviroment while still producing top notch product for the company. Goldman attracts top talent, so your co-workers work as hard as you do.

Cons

Can require longer hours - expected minimum is 50 hr/week. This is not just a 9-5, but you do get compensated.
