- working with the smartest and most driven people - entire organization works as a team - always striving for perfection

- some complacency creeping in because of market position - foster more individual creativity and thoughts - think about the long term business vs short term quarterly results

Pros

Excellent place to work if you're willing to pay the price with your lifestyle and work extremely hard. Definitely a firm that will open doors to other careers in finance and many opportunities for internal advancement if you do a good job.

Cons

It's a very competitive firm and you work extremely, extremely hard and that may be a detractor for many people. Not a firm where you can just rest on your laurels. You will sweat every step of the way.

Pros

Good benefits, vacation days. Emphasis on business principles, work ethics, diversity etc..

Cons

Long hours. For certain people, salary may not compensate you enough for time lost with friends, family. Promotion process is not straightforward and decision may involve people who never worked with you. Most of Finance has moved to Jersey City. Lost many talented people during the year due to the lack of compensation (which is understandable), understaffing (much more work for those who remained).
