Pros

Great name recognition Incredibly smart colleagues Great pay right out of undergrad Fantastic experience on high profile deals right out of undergrad

Cons

Obvious work-life balance issues, particularly in the NY office As with most banks, some of the lifers at the senior levels are particularly jaded and old school, with little regard for your happiness or success; however, there are also those who are very helpful, call it luck of the draw

Pros

Management and strategy are consistent and transparent across the organisation

Cons

As the organisation has grown, the inevitable politics and personal agendas have crept in to the working environment. Goldmans is now much more political than before and this has been difficult for some of the old school to adapt to.
