Goodyear Plant Tire Builder

Pros

Good pay and benefits along with seemingly unlimited overtime if wanted.

Cons

Tire machines were old, and broke down frequently. Since this is a production driven job, breakdowns are extremely detrimental. No matter the reason for low production, fault always fell on the tire builder.

Stagnant but stable

Pros

Good pay, good 401K, good people.

Cons

Still the same good 'ol boy network that existed 25 years ago. It's not what you know, it's who you know. No accountability and very few people get fired for not performing! There are way too many long-timers here so no room for advancement (since the long-timers aren't going anywhere)

Pros

Pay was fair, I had a lot of hands on exposure to the equipment.

Cons

I was required to work late and weekends typically without any notice. At no point was there any discussion about opportunities for advancement. Feedback on job performance was minimal. Overall my experience was very disappointing.
