The perks are as advertised, the food is awesome and everywhere. The best part about working at google is the team of engineers on every project. Everyone is helpful and encouraging. "We all make mistakes but it's important to learn and not to repeat" is generally the motto around Google Engineering.

I can't speak for everyone, but it does feel like from the top down, there's a concern for everyone's welfare. Good policies in place to make it easier for parents and caregivers to take time off during the pandemic to look after others. And of course, they pamper you with food, events, and great compensation.
