Pros

Great, hardworking coworkers that make the day-to-day enjoyable. If you worked for The Gordian Group 5-10 years ago, you would have experienced terrific career trajectory and growth, a unique company culture where employees had autonomy and were highly valued for their contributions, and pride in knowing you worked for a deeply ethical company that had no limits to its projected growth. Unfortunately, the structure, management, and culture changed in the last 5 years and many of the hardworking colleagues with tremendous institutional knowledge are no longer with the company, so this pros list will be obsolete in short order.

Cons

The focus of the company for past few years has been a revenue goal – this is not a con - but the vision of the company has been overshadowed by this goal and is not used as a path, a means, or an end. The mission and vision (and for that matter, the diversity) statements are paraded in front of employees but are not used in making decisions or setting goals, so there is no substance to them. The company lacks innovation and continues to develop products that are neither wanted nor needed by consumers. If the company were the Titanic, the executive team would be standing on the deck shouting, “You’re just too afraid of change!” as the rest of the company scurried to the lifeboats while the ship sank.

Good business model but toxic people

Pros

Gordian has a good business model, it was very profitable. I am not sure about now.

Cons

Good attracts good and bad attracts bad! In case of Gordian, bad attracted worse. Somehow Gordian managed to hire top leadership which is very toxic. Except CFO, everyone else has different interests at heart. Different departments are functioning as different companies. All CXO level individuals are very egostic in nature and hurting each other's departments without knowing that it is a same ship. Hiring, especially in product and IT team are based on ethnic background or family and friends. HR has become a gang of mafia referring their friends. Once hired these friends created a culture of mafia mentality. They are immune to any disciplinary action irrespective of the performance. Throwing hard working people under the bus or on firing list is a norm. Instead of finding opportunities to improve, I remember CEO setting up a group meeting and threatening for action against hard working employee for putting such posts on glassdoor or social media. People are in leadership positions where they do not have prior knowledge in the field, this is okay if new people have intentions to learn but this concept is alien to Gordian culture. Instead easy path is chosen to be part of mafia group and protect themselves - architect(s) in IT or few product owners fall in this category where their survival is solely based on failures of others and not on a 'team' win. It is unfortunate. Product team has no intentions or attitude or real experience in the field of creating or marketing product. Product head is smart but all smartness is wasted in finding reasons-scapegoat on how to put other department under the bus and force blame of failure on IT, Marketing or Sales . Few insiders from IT, Marketing have become 'pet' for product and they get to do what they like because of blessing from product head. Other are getting frustrated, they leave or they get fired. I knew the founder of this company and worked with them for some years, they would cry out loud if they see the current moral and culture of this place. It has turned into a life sucking force where you will be thrown out of the company irrespective of your ability. Your survival depends on not your contribution but your alignment with HR mafia team or being 'pet' of narrow-minded leadership. My message: take job here only when you don't have any other option on the horizon, People who are already in - please find or ask for help to find better option outside. Recently, we saw exit of few dedicated and smart people, this is not a good sign. People with wrong intentions are continuing to rule the place. I am worried.

Pros

Strong sales team, and knowledgeable hard working reps

Cons

It's funny, I know the person who wrote that first positive review. She worked for marketing, was ordered to write that because of how bad the company looked, and just got fired.
