Bad project managers and poor business development

Pros

-The problems the firm is funded to solve are interesting. -The remote nature of the work.

Cons

One of the project managers stated that he didn't want anyone else at the company working on his project because "the $800k is to keep me funded for the next 2 years". The same person also seemed to be actively trying to sabotage the presentation of a promising solution to increase the detection rate of trojans in FPGAs, which was the problem he was funded to improve. This type of behavior is not good in the long term.

Engineers come to GrammaTech because they get to work on what they are passionate about. There is a ton of experience here to lean from.

Cons

New owners are making it more corporate.

- Unique and often heavily research oriented technical challenges - Opportunities to work concurrently on multiple projects -- keeps things interesting (never expected to work >40hr weeks though) - Flexible work culture that promotes work-life balance - Hands off management style, opportunities for self-direction - Work with friendly, smart engineers

Cons

- Various kinds of technical debt across the board, including limited documentation of codebase
