Pros

Freindly Staff, Great Week Training, Easy Growth in terms of someone with no restaurant experience

Cons

Aventura Store is a training store for managers many good ones leave. Some managers do not take their jobs seriously. Many managers including top management have to much favoritism in servers (meaning if you are not ona managers good term good luck with good stations.) The clientel of Aventura has negative effects on you pay especially due to no gratuity you can work 12 hours and make nothing like 80 dollars all day which is terrible Management allows large parties of 30 people ?? why when there is no gratuity the people that come in GLUX know they can get free things if they complain about any thing so they come and we get all the comp And last thing the guest is always right nomatter what!?

Pros

It's good "casual upscale" experience for a server. The money is better than at most chain restaurants. Also, because of the broad menu, this is a good place to learn more about food.

Cons

Weekend and holidays there can be BRUTAL, as it's extremely busy. On one hand, this is good because that means more money. On the other hand, this sometimes means working a 12-14 hour shift without much of a break. And doing that for several days in a row. It's not uncommon for nearly all of the service staff to be scheduled for a double shift on a weekend, which often means little to no relief between shifts. During the holidays, 50-60 hour weeks for servers are not uncommon. Prepare to be cranky and exhausted. The real worst thing about this place though is the clientele. You'll wait on some great tables here who spend big, treat you nicely and tip generously... but you'll also wait on a lot of creeps. The people who eat here are a weird mix of upper and lower class. At Grand Lux, I've gotten some of the best tips I've ever gotten in several years of waiting tables... and I've also gotten stiffed more than ever (the good tips often make up for that, but it's still frustrating sometimes).
