      Pros

      Always interesting and challenging projects to cut your teeth on. If you want more than a 9 to 5 job working with smart people work at Granite.

      Cons

      You can get stuck on a project that is a loser: financially and owner wise. This makes day to day work no fun and a real drag. Hard to get out of a bad project unscathed.

      Stable company. Lots of upper management interactions.

      Cons

      They're still mentally recovering from the financial crisis downturn. Materials business is mostly an afterthought. This will always be a construction company first.
