Pros

There are no positives to working here. Take a job with Granite if you have to have something, then move on, fast.

Cons

Granite is a company straight out of the 1950s with an 80-page rule book. Work hours are set at 8 - 5, lunch is 12 - 1, and you have to clock in. No work from home. The complex dress code is covered in detail in the handbook and includes ties for men on certain days, specific shirts, pants, and shoes, jeans are ok on Friday but they must be "tidy jeans!" You can dress down Fridays only if you contribute cash to a charity. You can't use your phone at your desk. It goes on and on and on ..... The handbook details disciplinary actions for violating every detail of your behavior, including first, second, and third offenses. If you've got to have a job, work here while you look for a company that is operating in the 21st century and run -- don't walk -- away from Granite.

Pros

Great company to start a career. Granite does a great job at promoting within. Rob Hale does a great job acknowledging employee achievements. Granite is a great contributor to the community by emphasizing community service and donations to organizations. There is always room for growth if an individual seeks growth.

Cons

Some positions take longer to fill than it should considering that talent could slip through Granite’s fingers without them knowing. Company is a sales-driven company so competitive pay besides sales is in the lower tier. Although promotion within is great, there can be negative impacts when only settling internally for management/supervisor roles.
