One of the biggest problems at Granite is the lack of an HR Team. When an issue comes up and you have a problem with anyone in management good luck trying to get any solution. You can meet with someone in Legal but it is not advertised at all. When you meet with legal it seems as though they just want to appease you by hearing your gripes but then the company does not correct the issue. Most of the Upper Management has been in place for years and it is a very male saturated company where "if you don't like it you can leave" (words said directly from the President of the Company at a company wide meeting). Their tactics are micro-managing and fear based, by literally screaming at you until you break. If you want any sort of pay increase or a promotion , managers will stall forcing you to take Granite University classes in order to get there. As soon as you finish classes and receive praise for the good job you are doing you are stalled yet again by managers who are too afraid to ask upper management to give you that promotion or raise so you ultimately end up having to suck it up or leave. Pay at Granite is at the low end in most if not all positions (again unless you are in upper management). Weekly charity donations are funded by the employees who pay to wear jeans only on Fridays, every other day is business professional. If anything use this place as a stepping stone. Sales professionals I would advise against, this is a churn and burn type of organization unless you are in the "boys club" and get the good deals. Super over saturated market. Think all these reviews are joking about coming in on snow state of emergencies? Yup it happens or you need to use a PTO day for not showing up. Do not get stuck here because there really are better places that care about what their employees have to say, offer better pay, and want you to have a work life balance.
