Hustle- Short sighted management

Pros

Good base salary if you're in a southern office, great people, relaxed work environment. No one is super aggressive to the point that you start to resent the pressure or anything

Cons

You will however resent the inability of management to understand that the industry and leads you're provided as a new employee are different from their glory days. Management plays favorites subconsciously so I don't really fault them but it definitely helps to be on the inner cirlce, one manager doesn't even have the experience to be a manager but hey, good for him.

Pros

- Good work/life balance for most employees - Good opportunities for charity outreach and intramural activities - Unlimited 401k match (up to federal limit) - Ability to excel and quickly advance in a department because talent overall is so lacking

Cons

Marketing dishonesty: 1000 employees share in $1000 bonus (read: 800 employees get $1000 bonus, 200 temps get $50 bill) Adding 250 - 350 employees a year (for the past 10 years); easy to do when 200-300 people leave 50% of Granite's "Charitable Contributions" listed in magazines/press is from Granite employees themselves - Management's literal view of employees as "human resources"; will eagerly trade for a new, fresh collegiate model. Consistent 20-25% annual turnover is never a good sign - Permeating "not my job" attitude and atmosphere - Supervisors and Managers keep all the acclaim; employees do the actual work/presentation and pass full reports. Improbable ratio of management staff win Employee of the Month which earns a trip to Florida (and it's all due to tasks team members accomplish, not because of actual superstar supervisors).
