Cons

CULTURE OF FEAR - upper management walks around and looks over your shoulder. We actually got an email stating that management "doesn't want to see us socializing." It disgusting. If you don't meet the unrealistic goals each week, you get reprimanded. Some people get so worried about making the goals that they make up extra things to fill the gaps (basically, they lie). Weekly quizzes - if your four week average is under 70%, it's an automatic warning. You can also get a warning if you're late, or if a customer complains about you (whether the complaint is legit or not), and the third warning gets you fired. That's only if you're a permanent employee, though. Temps can get fired for no reason at all - I've seen it happen. Management tallies up our numbers and announces them at weekly departmental meetings, which only makes those who are struggling feel worse because we're constantly being compared to one another. Those who get the best numbers, or the "extra mile" get a gift card. Big whoop. How about a raise? We are constantly being given more responsibilities, but we never get any compensation. We're expected to instantly become experts on new products and procedures, and if we do it wrong because we were improperly trained, we are reprimanded. While this isn't technically the company's fault, we often get yelled at, sworn at, and once I even had a customer tell me that I'm a "worthless piece of ****," and that I should be fired for "being useless and stupid." This job is NOT worth the low pay and minimal benefits.

Pros

Lots of people my age (mid 20's).

Cons

Terrible office culture. Must be in at 8am on the dot. EVERYONE must take lunch at 12....no OT allowed. NO INTERNET usage. Management is a mess. Watch "Office Space"...pretty sure it was filmed onsite.

Pros

-Not a catch 22 situation getting hired -Young friendly workers -Looks and feels like a real job -Building (Quincy HQ) is very nice

Cons

Department: Structured Cabling Services "Inside Wire" "IW" -The pay range my recruiter described for post-temp was significantly lower than what I heard from perm employees. My temp pay was $14 (about $28K/year). I heard everyone got $16-$17 ($32-34K) upon becoming permanent. -Three days in I told my supervisor I had a commitment four weeks later and she said OK in front of someone. Then later she pulled me into a empty room and started a conversation she ended with "Temps don't get vacation days" -My training was just watching multiple people in my department do their jobs. They had the same same work load as usual so there was only so much they could do without affecting their daily stats (which are public). -While probing employees through casual conversation everyone used words like "stepping stone" and "first job" indicating that not many people stick around there. No one I talked to had been there for two years. -I looked up some of my co-workers on Facebook to try and gauge if they were living quality lives. Too many people had profile pictures of themselves in the office -My recruiter (Randstad Professionals) was an extremely smooth criminal. Ex - changing salary after I canceled other interviews, saying multiple temps aren't competing for the same job, and etc. So how did it end? Friday third week in, everything seemed to be going well. I was at my own desk with my own work starting to make friends with people in my department. I noticed three new TBA temps on the daily stats email and was actually kind of excited there would be other new people filling out the empty cubicles around me. I took a call at 4:58pm and got caught up in something until 5:20pm. Before going home my supervisor told me "temps don't get overtime" because that 20 minutes would have put me over 40 hours for the week. As I'm walking out the door my iPhone rings and my recruiter tells me "they've decided not to extend your contract" but has no specific reason why. My recruiters been so shady up to this point that I decided to go ask my supervisor if I'm fired because it makes so little sense. She says my stats weren't high enough. I had been saving the stats emails and when I start talking numbers she stutters a little and things start to get weird. She gives me an awkward handshake and says "good luck". Then I walk out more confused and shocked than I've possibly ever been in my life. I still think there was more to my termination than they told me. Like maybe the three new temps on the roster. You can take your chances with this company but at least read every one of these reviews first.
