Pros
A lot of the team members are great people. Several grants I wrote ended up helping companies win funding to further their research, which was why I got into grant writing in the first place.
Cons
You will be promised services or support that you will never receive. Do not trust anything you do not get in writing. Do not sign anything without a lawyer. It wasn't until after I started talking to current and previous employees that I found out how severely underpaid the writers are and how much the clients were overpaying for services based on what had been promised to them. Almost everyone is working part-time but being expected to work full-time. If you find out how much the writers/staff make and then compare it to how much the company *should* make based on their reported success rates... you'll figure out how much the management actually values their team.
