Pros

Benefits, both short and long term. Great work environment and the co-workers are awesome. Opportunities to move up if you are willing to move from city to city.

Cons

The company has lost sight of the individual contributors and now favors profitability over a person.

Pros

There are plusses to working for a privately owned company, such as company stock options, annual profit sharing, better-than-average benefits, and the freedom to work slightly outside of your defined job responsibilities in order to gain valuable experience.

Cons

Everyone is overworked, many of the mid-level managers are lacking in management skills and professionalism, opportunities for advancement without transferring are very limited, raises are trivial or non-existent, and seniority carries too much weight with management.
